Five-week training course for small businesses set

A five-week, small-business training course for startups or expanding businesses starts April 16 at Metro Technology Centers, 1700 Springlake Drive. The course is held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursdays through May 16. Topics include legal issues, financials, tax issues, marketing, advertising, e-commerce, business plan development and finding funding. Cost is $25. To enroll, contact the Community Action Agency at 232-0199.

Megabus cancels service in state

Megabus.com is discontinuing its service in Oklahoma after just nine months. The express bus service will no longer run routes from Norman and Oklahoma City to Dallas as of Thursday. Service in Oklahoma was launched in June. Customers who purchased tickets for dates beyond Thursday have been contacted and offered refunds or alternative transportation, Megabus said. Additionally, Megabus canceled routes to St. Louis and Springfield, Mo. The moves were made because the routes weren't profitable, a Megabus spokesman explained. He said the company may re-evaluate Oklahoma in the future.
